Cinemac offers a range of services, transactions and communications which may request personal data from you. This policy sets out who controls the data, where the data is processed and by whom, when it is requested, what the data is and why it is requested, and the choices you can make about your personal information. It applies to anyone who visits our website (cinemac.org.uk) or communicates with us by phone, e-mail or in person.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is designed to give everyone the right to know what data is stored about them and to have it deleted, and to protect citizens from privacy and data breaches. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Cinemac is a ‘data controller’, responsible for and controlling the processing of your personal information. We are committed to safeguarding your personal information under the terms of the law.
We collect information that you give us on our website or in person, or when you communicate with us by phone, e-mail or social network.

The personal data we collect about you may vary depending on the enquiry or service you request from us.
As a minimum we will collect from you:
your name and
preferred contact address by telephone and/or email;
we may also request your postal address, depending on the enquiry or service
we will use your social media contact address if we are communicating on social media
When you book tickets for any of our events or shows we will collect your telephone number and email address so that we can contact you in case of changes to the programme.
We will also use your telephone number to contact you with regard to lost property.
We record your age to the extent that it is indicated by your choice of tickets. Although we may require proof of age in order to confirm your choice of ticket or your right of admission according to a film’s certification, we will not retain your date of birth.
We will note any access requirements you may raise with us for your visit to the cinema. This information will not be retained after the visit in question.
When you buy tickets, we will collect payment information from you such as credit or debit card details or bank information for the purposes of taking payment through our third party providers.
Cinemac and Jack Roe (CS) Ltd servers do not retain credit or debit card details or bank information other than the last four digits on cards which are retained for the purpose of identifying transactions. Card information is otherwise encrypted when it is processed and the full details of your card are not stored on our servers and cannot be accessed by us. Electronic refunds of card transactions will require re-presentation of your card at the cinema.
If you communicate with us generally, for example to raise a query, comment or complaint about any of our services, we will also collect any other information you choose to provide in that communication.
When using our website we may also collect some technical (not personal) information about how you use our website, for example the type of device you are using, your operating system, IP address, the web address you arrived at our site from, and length of visit.
Cookies are files downloaded to your computer by your web browser when you visit certain websites. A cookie allows your web browser to identify you to us when you use the website, which in turn allows us to ‘remember’ some of your settings and preferences. Please note that third party advertisers may also use cookies within their advertising protocols. You may choose to have your web browser disable cookies, but if you choose to do this, certain elements of the site may not always work for you.
Where you have disclosed your information to us, we use information:
because it is necessary to administer the services you have requested from us from time to time and fulfil our obligations to you in providing these services.
We will use the information provided to process your payment for any tickets purchased and to provide you with those tickets.
We will also use this information to provide you with news and updates about our film schedule and to provide you with information as to any changes to our prices and terms and conditions

We won’t use your information for any purposes except those above without letting you know and getting your permission if necessary.
We don’t sell your information.
Nor are we in the practice, beyond the provision of an optional request when booking online for information from time to time from Jack Roe (CS) Ltd, of disclosing information or data to other companies or organisations for their marketing purposes. Use of Facebook, Twitter or other social media sites to communicate with us are on their terms.
We don’t share the information that is provided to us except:
with third party service providers, such as hosting providers or an email service provider, who provide services to us so that we are able to fulfil our obligations to you;
if we have a legal obligation to disclose your information (for example, if a court orders us to);
if we transfer our obligations under our terms of use to another company, this may mean that we need to transfer your personal data to that company although the company that receives your information will protect the information in the same way we do. We will contact you to let you know if we plan to do this. If you are unhappy with the transfer you may contact us to end your contract with us within 30 days and if you do so, we will not transfer your data to that company.
In GDPR terms, Cinemac acting as ‘data’ controller may share personal data with third parties acting as ‘data processors’. These third parties include Jack Roe (CS) Ltd and Rocket Science Group t/a Mailchimp.
We keep your personal information for as long as we need to for the purposes for which it was collected or (if longer) for any period for which we are required to keep personal information to comply with our legal and regulatory requirements or until you ask us to delete your personal data, in accordance with your rights below. We will regularly assess the personal data that we hold to determine its relevance and destroy your personal data if we no longer require it or no longer provide any services to you.
You have a number of rights in relation to your personal data. These include the right to:
find out how we process your personal data;
request that your personal data is corrected if you believe it is incorrect or inaccurate;
obtain restriction on our, or object to, processing of your personal data;
ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes;
withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal data; and
obtain a copy of your personal information which we hold about you. We will take steps to verify your identity before responding to your request and will respond as soon as possible and in any event within a month.
Further, if you do not wish to receive any marketing information from us, you can unsubscribe from such notifications at any time using the link on any e-mail that we send to you, or at any other time by getting in touch with us using the details set out in the ‘Contact Us’ section below.
At the end of your relationship with us you can ask us to delete your personal data and we will do so as far as we are reasonably able and subject to our legal requirements to retain such data. You can also request that we provide you with written confirmation of the deletion of your personal data, which we will provide if we have deleted that data and can provide evidence of this.

Cinemac is the trading name for Cinemac Macclesfield Limited with VAT registration 913 2442 55.
Our website contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties. Our website’s design and operation, and online ticketing are by Jack Roe (CS) Ltd, and we have a link to Facebook and Twitter. Our mailing list is processed by Mail Chimp. Information about the privacy policies of these companies can be accessed from them or are available during the process of purchasing tickets online. We have no control over the contents of those sites or their own links and resources.
If you use any third party sites or resources the third party services’ rules and policies will apply and you should check these before you submit any personal data to third party sites. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by Cinemac.
We reserve the right to consult CCTV installed and operated by the Old Sunday School and to use recording equipment on our premises, including foyers and auditoria, for the protection of our customers, our staff and our business. From time to time we may also take photographs of audiences at screenings for media reports or promotion of events on social media but prior notification will always be provided with notices on display at the box office.
